FAQs
I’m new! Where should I start?
1
Welcome! We love beginners. Whether you’re brand new to fitness, returning after time away, or looking to try something new, we’re here to help you find the right fit.
Our $29 Two-Week Unlimited Intro is a great way to explore our group classes, meet our instructors, and find what you love.
If Pilates equipment classes are where you want to start, we offer an intro offer of 3 classes for $69.
If you prefer a more personalized start before jumping into class, we suggest starting with a few private sessions.
Do I need experience to take class?
2
Not at all! Our instructors are trained to offer options and help you work at a level that feels right for your body. You do not need to be “in shape,” flexible, coordinated, or experienced to begin.
What class should I take first?
3
It depends on your goals! We offer a variety of formats, from strength and cardio to Pilates-based movement.
If you’re unsure where to start, reach out — we’re happy to help you find the best fit.
What makes The Cube different?
4
At The Cube, we believe movement should be smart, effective, and something you actually enjoy.
Our highly trained instructors focus on quality movement, alignment, and helping you build strength that supports your real life — all in a welcoming community where you can show up exactly as you are.
Do I need to book my class ahead of time?
5
Yes! Pre-registration is required for all classes. Our classes are intentionally small, and booking ahead reserves your spot. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins.
How do I book a private or semi-private session?
6
We’d love to work with you! To get started, email Anna at fitnessatthecube@gmail.com.
We’ll talk through your goals, schedule, and what you’re looking for so we can match you with one of our expert instructors and create the best experience for you.
Where do I park?
7
Durham Studio:
There is plenty of free parking available! You may park in the lot directly in front of the studio, the gravel lot behind the building that we share with the pet spa, or the gravel lot that we share with La Vaquita.
Chapel Hill Studio:
There is plenty of free parking available! You may park in the lot we share with Starbucks, the main Falconbridge shopping center lot, or along the road behind UNC Health.
When should I arrive for class?
8
Please arrive a few minutes early so you have time to get settled. Our studio is an intimate space without a traditional lobby, and the doors unlock 5–10 minutes before class begins.
If you arrive earlier than that, the studio may still be locked as our instructors prepare for your class.
To provide the best experience for everyone, late arrivals may not be permitted.
What should I wear and bring?
9
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Please bring water and your own mat for mat-based classes.
For TRX, Zumba, Trampoline, Bootcamp, and Mat Strength classes, please wear sneakers.
For Pilates Mat and Barre, you can wear sneakers, grip socks, or be barefoot.
Pilates equipment classes are done barefoot or with grip socks. Regular socks are not permitted on Pilates equipment for safety reasons.
Can I bring my phone into class?
10
We ask that phones and smart watches stay in the cubbies during class. This helps everyone stay present, minimizes distractions, and keeps you safe while moving.
What if I have an injury, health concern, or am pregnant?
11
Please tell your instructor before class begins. We love helping you find the best options for your body, and knowing ahead of time allows us to support you throughout class.
What if I need to leave early?
12
We understand schedules happen! If you need to leave early, please let your instructor know before class and exit quietly when needed.
What is your cancellation policy for class?
13
We have a 12-hour cancellation policy for all classes.
This allows us to support our instructors and gives clients on the waitlist enough time to attend.
Late cancellations or no-shows will result in:
Unlimited members: $15 late cancellation/no-show fee
Class package holders: Loss of one class credit
Private and semi-private sessions require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations.
Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the loss of one session from your package.
What is your cancellation policy for private and semi-private sessions?
14
Do class packages expire?
15
Yes. Class packages expire 6 months from purchase.
Private and semi-private session packages expire 12 months from purchase.
All purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be extended.
We appreciate your understanding and consistency with these policies. They allow us to provide the best experience possible for our clients, instructors, and community.
